I studied at the University of Sydney, completing an Advanced Science degree majoring in physics and mathematics, followed by First Class Honours in applied mathematics.
I've spent the eight years since working in data science in Australia. Outside of work, personal finance and investing are a genuine hobby of mine: I like applying the same mathematical and statistical rigour I use professionally to the decisions a lay investor, namely me, actually has to make.
This site is where I write that thinking up properly rather than leaving it in a spreadsheet. I intend to keep adding to it as I work through more of my own decisions in more depth.
A note on tools: the thinking and conclusions on this site are mine. I make heavy use of AI to support the analysis and the code behind it, and I'm deliberately exploring where that's a genuine help and where it isn't.
